Gonna make an offer
We re-visited house #1 today — 512 28th Ave (I took another huge batch of pictures this trip). We’re going to make an offer tomorrow. I’m scared. I don’t remember being this scared about Gateway circle, but I don’t remember emotions much anyway. I’m not exactly sure why I’m scared. I guess it’s just financial. I’m worried about failing to make payments, or having the C’ville house go un-rented and having to pay two mortgages when it feels like we’re stretched paying just our rent right now.
Mostly, I have faith that it’ll work. We’ve got good equity in the Charlottesville house, which we can tap if we must. We’ve got fair equity in the stock market which we can tap if we must. I feel a little over-invested in retirement accounts, but it’s an important way to tax-shield my investments.
I’m also excited. It’s really nice space. I love the openness from the kitchen to the den. It should make entertaining quite pleasant. I love the workshop space. I fantasize about buying cool woodworking equipment for it and making custom furniture, etc there that I sell at tremendous markup. — “A Capehart Original”
The bedrooms are all large. Closets are everywhere. It’s comfortable space. I’m excited to populate it with the artifacts of my life and snuggle into it.
